Community Support Co-ordinator - Prescription Plus - Crawley Community Voluntary Service

35 hours per week (37fte)
Fixed-term contract until 30th September 2020

Prescription Plus is a social prescribing project in Crawley which improves the health and wellbeing of local people by supporting them to connect with community support and activities.

We are recruiting for a Community Support Co-ordinator to join the Prescription Plus Team. You will be linked to four GP surgeries in Crawley and responsible for taking referrals, meeting and assessing patients, and supporting them to make positive changes to their lives by linking in with a range of community activities. You will be part of a small team developing and expanding this project in Crawley.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you have a driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Activities Coordinator - Age UK West Sussex

24 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday and Friday

If you have experience of developing activities and services, you are good at administration including health and safety and genuinely enjoy working with people, we would love to hear from you. Part Time Assistant Manager - Relate Charity Shop

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for retailing to take up the role of Part Time Assistant Manager at our Charity Shop in Broadfield Barton, Crawley. This is an exciting opportunity to build and maintain relationships in the local community and to work for Relate to help local families who are struggling. We provide counselling and support to couples, individuals, families and young people who are experiencing difficulties as a result of relationship breakdown.

The successful applicant will oversee the running of the shop and support of the Charity Shop volunteers on Saturdays and Sundays. This will be a hands on role involving the selection, pricing and presentation of donated stock and, of course customer service. The successful applicant must have a good standard of general education, experience of working in a similar retail environment, and need to be self-motivated, creative and positively committed to working in charity retail.

Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator - YMCA DownsLink Group

Horsham & regular travel to Crawley

We are recruiting a Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit, train and support adult volunteers/mentors from the local communities, to work with vulnerable young people based in our supported housing projects and the local community. This includes delivering our established Positive Placements employability programme across Horsham and Crawley.

The Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator will seek to build links and financial support from local stakeholders and businesses, leading to greater opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and employment for the young people that we support.

You will be responsible for and managing an existing caseload of volunteers, as well as ongoing recruitment and training. You will need to maintain monitoring systems to ensure the strategic development of the volunteering programme works towards departmental and team objectives and targets.

You must have experience of working with young people and understand the issues and barriers which may be experienced by vulnerable young people in a supported housing setting and community setting. You will need to have experience in recruiting and supporting volunteers and delivering training programmes. The role will involve organising, managing and prioritising your own workload with periods of minimal supervision.

Information and Advice Telephone/Outreach Advisor - Age UK West Sussex

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team with proven communication and people skills, knowledge and experience of delivering advice. You will be required to provide county wide information and advice for older people by answering enquiries from the public over the telephone, in person and via email or other written means.

The Information and Advice service provides advice on a broad range of topics including, financial, benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer, care, community support, funding care, education and leisure activities.

IT Trainer - We Are Digital

We Are Digital are empowering people to enrich lives and communities. We are a social impact driven company dedicated to equipping people with digital skills to alleviate financial and social isolation, through our nationwide network of delivery partners, underpinned by expertise to seamlessly deliver all elements of a successful change programme, and holistically assess outcomes, allowing continuous learning, systematically improving outcomes.
Looking for self-employed trainers to deliver basic IT training on behalf of We Are Digital on a one-to-one and group basis. Operational hours are Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. hourly rate will be £15.00 – £25.00 dependent upon mileage (inclusive of travel). We Are Digital cannot guarantee the number of hours offered as this is based on referrals. This means greater flexibility to work around current commitments. Either a basic DBS check or a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check will be required prior to commencement of any contract; a DBS costs £26.00 – We Are Digital will pay up front then reclaim the cost of the DBS check from your first invoice. The cost of a BPSS check will be covered by We Are Digital.
