Family / Volunteer Co-ordinator - Home-Start Crawley, Horsham and Mid-Sussex

Home-Start Crawley, Horsham and Mid-Sussex is looking for a part time Co-ordinator (23 hours pw.) to work with local volunteers and families to bring about positive changes for children.

The Family/Volunteer Co-ordinator’s role is a diverse one:
You are responsible for
• recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting our team of volunteers
• receiving family referrals and assessing the family’s needs,
• providing the right match of volunteer to family and supervising the ongoing support
• integrating support with other agencies where needed.

If you would like to be considered for this rewarding role you will need the following:
• experience of parenting
• sound knowledge of working with vulnerable families
• proven experience of providing supervision, ideally with volunteers
• use of a car to enable visiting families, mileage will be paid

Take Home & Settle Bank Coordinator - Age UK West Sussex

Up to 6.5 hour shifts, with 30 minute break on a bank / cover basis 10am– 5pm, Monday – Friday

Based in East Surrey and Princes Royal Hospital
The team of Take Home and Settle Co-ordinators provide vulnerable people with the support they need to return home safely rather than be admitted to hospital due to a lack of support at home. Our Clients are people who live alone and do not have immediate support at home.
We collect patients from the discharge lounge:
• take them home
• maybe do a bit of shopping on the way
• settle them at home checking heating and other facilities are working
• ensure they have eaten
• make sure they are comfortable
• notify network of support they are home

The successful applicant will need a practical approach, good people skills and will require a full driving licence and use of a car.

This special individual will lead our magnificent team of over 100 staff and volunteers at Age UK West Sussex, based in Littlehampton, West Sussex.
As CEO you will work closely with the Board of Trustees and head a Senior Management Team to drive forward the strategic plan for our organisation and achieve the best possible outcomes for the older people of West Sussex.

You will be a confident communicator, relationship builder and partnership broker with funders, commissioners and fellow providers ensuring the sustainability of the charity. You will also work to secure the funding needed to ensure our next level of growth, leading on our fundraising and commissioning relationships in addition to our income generation strategy. We are seeking an inspirational leader who will be ambitious for our organisation at a time when we face reductions to our local authority funding. Development is key to this role, increasing opportunities for us to make real change for the better.
