Community Development Worker | Crawley Community and Voluntary Service

28 hours per week.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Community Development Worker to support and enable charities, community groups and social enterprises on their journey to becoming effective and sustainable. Bringing your skills and enthusiasm to supporting voluntary and community action, you will provide vital advice, support and training/learning opportunities to help local organisations start, grow and thrive.

Reporting to, and working with the Community Development Manager, you will be part of the Outreach Team working to Service Level Agreements within the organisation, which you will be a part of developing and monitoring.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to the quality to the quality of life for residents and local communities across Crawley.

Community Development Advisor | Crawley Community and Voluntary Service & Horsham District Council

37 hours per week
Contract Length – Two years

Horsham District Council (HDC) are working in partnership with Crawley Community & Voluntary Service (CCVS) as part of the West Sussex wide Voluntary & Community Sector Infrastructure Alliance (WSVCSI).

We have an exciting post that will be employed by CCVS but based within the existing team at HDC. We are looking for a Community Development Adviser who will work to strengthen local voluntary and community organisations, support local communities in identifying needs, and build and support the use of community assets.

As Community Development Adviser you will sit within the Community Development team who are guided by a set of principles which include social inclusion, equality, and sustainable activities.

The post holder will be expected to work with a broad range of emerging and existing community organisations and partners to identify need, opportunity and support in the sector.

The post holder will also offer support to the community through HDC’s Voluntary Support Service.

To succeed as Community Development Adviser you will have a track record of working in the community to achieve results, a keen interest in developing community assets and relationships, and be willing and able to work flexibly. You will be a good communicator and listener. You will have organisational and problem solving skills and will be someone who is keen to make a difference.

It is essential that you hold a driving licence and have access to your own transport for business use.

The specific work structure in respect of days and hours worked will be agreed with the successful applicant.

IT Trainer - We Are Digital

Looking for self-employed trainers to deliver basic IT training on behalf of We Are Digital on a one-to-one and group basis. Operational hours are Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. hourly rate will be £15.00 – £25.00 dependent upon mileage (inclusive of travel). We Are Digital cannot guarantee the number of hours offered as this is based on referrals. This means greater flexibility to work around current commitments. Either a basic DBS check or a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check will be required prior to commencement of any contract; a DBS costs £26.00 – We Are Digital will pay up front then reclaim the cost of the DBS check from your first invoice. The cost of a BPSS check will be covered by We Are Digital.
