Age UK West Sussex | Community Support Worker

18.5 Hours. Based at Durban House, Bognor Regis

Age UK West Sussex delivers services and activities to support vulnerable people, their carer’s and families. Our aim is to promote well-being and make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

We work with West Sussex County Council Prevention Assessment Team to support the wellbeing of adults and older people and have the following vacancy.

This role will provide access to practical support to vulnerable people where a specific need exists. The purpose is to engage directly with clients to provide one-off, time limited practical support to access sources of support available within the local area. The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering a range of expertise, including health and social care to enable people to make any changes in their lives or make informed choices necessary to resolve their issues.

You will need to have a full driving licence and use of a car.

Age UK offers annual leave entitlement of 28 days per annum, plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time)

Age UK West Sussex | Information and Advice Telephone/Outreach Advisor

21 hours per week. Based in Littlehampton

Age UK West Sussex delivers a range of services and activities to meet older people’s needs. Our aim is to promote the well-being of all older people and make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

We want to recruit an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with older people and can support us to continue delivering a quality service

We deliver an information and advice service to people aged 50 and over, as well as their families and carers, on a wide range of issues. We operate an Advice Quality Standard (AQS) telephone advice line, face to face advice at outreach locations throughout West Sussex and home visits for less mobile clients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team with proven communication and people skills, knowledge and experience of delivering advice. You will be required to provide county wide information and advice for older people by answering enquiries from the public over the telephone, in person and via email or other written means. As part of this role you will be required to travel covering outreach in Bognor Regis and Chichester.

The Information and Advice service provides advice on a broad range of topics including, money advice, benefits, housing, consumer, care, community support, funding care and leisure activities.

This post requires a full driving licence and use of a car.

Age UK West Sussex | Data and Information Officer

37 hours a week
Base can be at either our Littlehampton or Brighton Office

Age UK West Sussex and Age UK Brighton and Hove have recently merged. With new combined leadership, we are developing and designing a future strategy and vision for older people across both West Sussex and Brighton and Hove.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly flexible and skilled Data Information Officer to collect, process and analyse a range of data in support of the organisation’s strategic and operational responsibilities. The post holder will be required to produce reports, enabling performance to be effectively measured and monitored. They will assist in the maintenance and running of our IT system and provide 1st line IT support as required. They will be the key link with our database and IT support providers. We have offices in Littlehampton and Brighton and the role can be based at either office.

The use of a car would be desirable but not essential.

Relate North & South West Sussex | Charity Shop Co-ordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for retailing to take up the role of Charity Shop Co-ordinator to support the Shop Manager at our Charity Shop in Broadfield Barton, Crawley. This is an exciting opportunity to build and maintain relationships in the local community and to work for Relate to help local families who are struggling. We provide counselling and support to couples, individuals, families and young people who are experiencing difficulties as a result of relationship breakdown.

The successful applicant will oversee the running of the shop and support of the Charity Shop volunteers on Fridays and Saturdays, and for one additional half-day during the week to work more closely with the Shop Manager. This will be a physical, hands-on role involving the processing, selection, pricing and presentation of donated stock and, of course customer service. Motivating and supporting our small team of volunteers is a key part of the role. The successful applicant must have a good standard of general education, experience of working in a similar retail environment, and needs to be self-motivated, trustworthy, reliable and positively committed to working in charity retail.

Hours of work: Fridays 9.30 am – 4.45 pm; Saturdays 10 am – 4.15 pm; additional half-day to be agreed.

The service provides short term care (up to 14 days) following hospital discharge, onset of a sudden illness or when informal care breaks down.

We are looking at increasing our team to support winter pressures within Hospitals including hospital discharge and reducing hospital admissions.

You will be joining a well established and highly regarded team of Crisis Carers who will make you welcome and support you to provide a positive and fulfilling experience at work. We offer flexible hours to suit you with options covering Monday – Sunday.

Age UK Crisis Service delivers care within client’s home providing short term personalised care to people in later life returning home from hospital or in a Crisis. The service operates throughout the year and full support and training will be provided. Crisis Carers deliver low level personal care and support clients to access other appropriate services as required. Crisis Carers have a flexible approach, are able to use their initiative when working alone and communicate well within a team. Your role will be to enable clients to regain a level of independence to allow them to live as a full a life as possible.

Age UK West Sussex require SELF EMPLOYED HOME HELPS in WEST SUSSEX to help with household tasks, cleaning, shopping and provide social support to assist older people to remain independent in their own homes.

Working between Monday and Friday, the hours are flexible and according to your availability.

IT Trainer - We Are Digital

We Are Digital are empowering people to enrich lives and communities. We are a social impact driven company dedicated to equipping people with digital skills to alleviate financial and social isolation, through our nationwide network of delivery partners, underpinned by expertise to seamlessly deliver all elements of a successful change programme, and holistically assess outcomes, allowing continuous learning, systematically improving outcomes.
Looking for self-employed trainers to deliver basic IT training on behalf of We Are Digital on a one-to-one and group basis. Operational hours are Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. hourly rate will be £15.00 – £25.00 dependent upon mileage (inclusive of travel). We Are Digital cannot guarantee the number of hours offered as this is based on referrals. This means greater flexibility to work around current commitments. Either a basic DBS check or a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check will be required prior to commencement of any contract; a DBS costs £26.00 – We Are Digital will pay up front then reclaim the cost of the DBS check from your first invoice. The cost of a BPSS check will be covered by We Are Digital.
