POPP coming to an end
Conclusion of Partnership of Older People’s Project and Crawley Neighbourhood Network

As you may be aware the project, pilot by the government to improve the quality of life for older people in Crawley by promoting their health, wellbeing and independence, is coming to en end on 39th September 2010. Although a highly successful project, lack of available funding means the project cannot be sustained by West Sussex Council.

This means that the Crawley Neighbourhood Network, funded through POPP and run by the Crawley Council for Voluntary Service and other voluntary sector organisations since 2008, must also sadly end on 30 September 2010.
However, whilst the Crawley Neighbourhood Network will be concluding, CCVS and the other voluntary organisations will of course, be remaining. We will therefore begin the process of transferring the contact details of your group to our main database with effect from the beginning of August. If you would not be happy with this or would like to discuss what might be involved please contact ann.emery@crawleycvs.org or patricia.swain@crawleycvs.org or phone 01293 657160.

In the meantime, the Crawley Neighbourhood Network will continue as usual; support from the Community Engagement Workers remains in place and the Business Development Team are keen to help with grant/fundraising applications, business planning and governance (contact Holly or Steve on 01293 657159)
